Anyone that knows me knows that I love podcasts.  And what’s not to love…

  • They are FREE
  • They are available on just about any topic that you are interested in
  • They are available on just about any electronic device that you own
  • You can listen to them while doing other things (such as driving, working out, doing office work, etc.)

So it’s no surprise that people often wonder what my go-to podcasts are.  Without further ado, here are the podcasts that are in my rotation every week.

BiggerPockets (Josh Dorkin & Brandon Turner)

biggerpockets-podcast

BiggerPockets was the website that I wish I had found before I spent $15,000 on a credit card for real estate training.  I found them after and have been a member of the site ever since.  It is by far the best resource online for real estate investing.  The site has over 100,000 members, an active forum, a daily blog and tons of other useful information for real estate investors.  I enjoyed the site so much that I now contribute a weekly blog (check out my BiggerPockets contributions) and even appeared as a guest on episode 45.

Each week, Josh and Brandon interview a different successful real estate investor.  Since there are hundreds of different ways to invest in real estate, as well as differences between locations and experiences of investors, each week brings great new content and a new perspective.  The premise of the show is the same each week, but as interesting topics come up, Josh and Brandon drill down into the details to get to the real information and actionable items on a variety of real estate topics.

Entrepreneur on Fire (John Lee Dumas)

entrepreneur-on-fire-podcast

This is just an amazing podcast and one that is near and dear to our hearts.  Our goal with this site is to pull back the curtain to what being an entrepreneur (or entreprenewlywed as we like to say) really entails.  John publishes an episode 7 days a week.  Yes, he publishes a new episode every day!  Since this started in September 2012, John has interviewed nearly 500 entrepreneurs (at the time of this writing).  The idea for this website actually came to me while driving to work and listening to this podcast.  I thought “can we pull back the curtain not only on being entrepreneurs, but also managing your family as well?”  The format of the show is consistent and John really focuses on the journey, successes, failures and “aha” moments of a variety of entrepreneurs.

Smart Passive Income (Pat Flynn)

smart-passive-income-podcast

Pat Flynn is probably one of the most well-known people when it comes to creating online products and internet marketing.  He calls himself “the crash test dummy of online business” because he tries different ventures and is very transparent about what works and what doesn’t work.  He sometimes will have a guest on his podcast, other times he will discuss a specific topic.  One of the things that I love about Pat’s show is that you can just tell he is real and a down to earth guy.  He also just released a new daily podcast called Ask Pat.  This new show is ~10 minutes long and Pat answers one specific question from his audience.

Online Marketing Made Easy (Amy Porterfield)

I actually came to find Amy’s podcast from Entrepreneur on Fire.  Besides the simply amazing content that she provides related to all things list building and online marketing, Amy has such a great radio voice.  It is smooth and calming and the quality of her recording/production of her show is second to none.  She previously worked for Tony Robbins and has spent the last several years creating and marketing a few products online, one of which is fbinfluence 2.0, which we recommend.

So those are the podcasts that are in my rotation.  Each of these hosts is very real and each podcast provides very valuable content.  Additionally, I get a great mix of the business topics that I am interested in each week.  There are a lot of podcasts out there, and I typically try out a few new ones each week, but the ones listed above are my mainstays.
